I am assumming this...
We have 2 Honey locust trees ..about 25 years old...1 male
...1female....the female always....bears thousands of seed pods every
year...which is a nuisance.... this year ...No seed pods...I can only
assume it was from the drought conditions we had this summer...Must be a
self preservation.....the tree kept it's leaves...but shut down on it's
pods...I was ..quite happy this year ...no pods... So I will assume lack
of water ..was the cause of no seeds....in your pumpkin.....????
Deborah
Group,
Last Sat. afternoon I hacked up my 228 as a jack-o-lantern
and was extremely disturbed and pissed when I discovered
inside the cavity was...NO SEEDS!!! The only hint of a seed
was a little transparent bubble that, I suppose, would have
been a seed had it matured. The poor thing had no water at
all from the middle of June until I plucked it from it's dead,
decaying vine in early September. The soaker hoses were
in place, but the drought like conditions and extremely hot
summer brought our water tables dangerously low and I was
not about to run my sister's well dry just to keep it going.
All I can say is, maybe next year will be better.
Question: Did the "no seed" scenario result from the "no water"
scenario? What do you suppose caused this?
My first thought was "Terminator Seed Technology". I believe
that stuff is a threat to our very existence on this planet. But
these seeds came from a very reliable, trustworthy man and
I can only guess what the cause was.
Anybody have an opinion on this? I would really like to hear it.
From east central Alabama,
Scott Parsons
