Intros

Title: Intros

Since we all are requested to give intros, here goes....Jan Canyon from Tukwila, WA (home of almost awesome pumpkin).  This is the second year we have tried to grow these.  The first year was from commercial Dill's Atlantic Giant seed.  That yielded a 79 pounder, and big disappointment.  We learned from all of you, and got much better seed from generous members and this year, our largest was 420 pounds (not official).  It was picked immature as we got a very late start due to weather in the Pacific Northwest.  Hopefully, next year will see great improvement. 

We have spent a lot of time and effort improving the soil with compost, etc. as we are backyard growers (and not a huge backyard either).  This sport is addictive and lots of fun.  Thanks to all of you for all the great advice (and seeds).  See ya at next year's weigh off!
