I always add everything back into the soil except diseased vines or badly
bore damaged vines. I grow sunflowers every year as a shade / wind break
for the pumpkins. Today my stalks wil be tilled into the
soil..........although some stalks from my mammouth sunflowers are like
tree limbs. All this keeps the soil aereated and good compost. I have
never noticed any differences.
