Fruit on the vine

Hi everybody,
I was wondering....has anybody ever tried positioning a pumpkin on the
vine so that it grows in an upright position ( in other words, so the
stem is on top). I would think that if you could do that, you would get
a better looking pumpkin. Just a thought....
