Re: Duncan

Holy Cow Manure...

Listen, I have been on this list for a year. I have gotten some good
information and I had a decent year this year (first one). I have speed up
my delete key finger, and delete many of cow manure messages. I find the
list 50% information and 50% entertainment.

Someone is always being dissed. If it is not Ray Waterman, its the Biologist
guy (WHO I DO MISS, I FORGOT HIS NAME), or a poor guy peddling miracle grow
or Duncan or someone. I would estimate for every post with good information
there are 3 posts with information that does nothing for the good of the
list or the good of the people <in general>

This list is good, and it is known, and there are a lot of people that come
and go on it. It is good.

There is one thing, Duncan manages the list. Let him.. Let him make the
rules. It is a lot of work, and I do not want to do it. It will not change
your life if you can't post some comment on some person. Just let the
list-owner manage the thing. You cannot please all the people, and people
are always going to be upset at something you do. It is just better if these
people just keep negative comments to them selves or in private e-mail.

I do not know Duncun, and if walked in my Office right now I would not
recognize him. I do not think it is a power trip on his part. I think the
people that post these negative comments on other people are more on a a
power trip. They get some sort of power by dissing someone in a public
forum. Take the message below for example, this could of easily been sent
privately, but the same "Power" would not have been realized.

If you don't like it leave the list, and make your own or whatever. Just
people have got to take a break from all of this.

I suggest that the following be adopted:

With the Exception of Product Performance Reviews, if you cannot say
something good about someone, do not say it on the list. Send all the
private e-mail's you want complaining about whoever. Reviewing product
performance and especially bad performance, is a big part of the need of the
list.

I think if we adopt this then, we will all be better off.

the professionals in New York City. When Pumpkin growers try to be nasty it
is more funny and stupid, then nasty.. give it up!
