Re: Pumpkin Metamorphosis
Doug,
Your welcome for the seeds, but I am curious, what seed did the greening
pumpkin come from? Mine has given off lots ofgreen hues and hints inside the
cantalouping, and some on the list lately have discussed that being not just
genetic, but possibly an environmental, conditional thing. I am not convinced
one way or another, but curious if the seed that grew this fruit has other
tendancies. Some of the best seed out there has thrown squash , or
pumpkin/squashJeckyl/Hyde type situations. This year alone the Eaton 1009 grew
the biggest squash in Clarence, while in years past the Sproule 968, Mackenzie
1010, Andersen 815 to name a few have either thrown a squash or two, converted
a couple, or just plain grown all squash. I guess with any seed, there is no
guarantee, as years ago, most of these AG's have had squash introduced into its
genetic background to create heavier pumpkins through wall thickness and other
squash type niceties..
Anyways, green does look awesome carved, so have fun with it..
