Re: big pumpkins
The largest to date is 1131 pounds. It was grown last year by Gerry Checkon in
Pennsylvania. The Caterpillar is most likely a Squash Vine Borer.
Howard Dill has created the genetic background of the seeds we have today. He has
a legitimate patent on them and If not for him we would not be growing 1000
ponders today. Most of us consider this a hobby and are not in it for the profit.
If we had to pay for every seed, half of us would probably not be able to afford
them. We highly respect the Dill family and thank them for what we have today.
