Neil,
The first thing you should do is have the soil from the new patch tested. If you
are happy with the composition of your old patch have it tested as well and use
it as a comparison. Look for PH, CEC and %of Organic Matter and adjust
accordingly. Base levels of each nutrient can be made at this time but it might
be better to attend to the above mentioned items first. Fine tuning of nutrients
should be done in the spring before planting and then closely watched as the
season progresses.
OR.
You could do nothing, throw a seed in the ground in the spring and pop a 900
lber.
