Carlson 662

List,
Just an update on how the Carlson 662 looked on the inside..she had
11" walls on the shoulders.....maintaining nice thick walls though the
middle of the fruit...still a good 9" plus at this point.....following
up with a solid 7" at the blossom end.....Also noticed the actual
density of the meat was different then other fruits I have cut
up....This one was very hard.....Strange indeed......
Final Notes on this years best from the Carlson patch...
138 x 81 x 81= 300"....estimate of 540#...actual weight was 662# or 122#
over the chart......22.5 % Heavy.....secondary main vine and the vine
was terminated right after the fruit...1 leaf joint beyond actually....
2nd fruit on this plant was on the main and was culled early due to
bad stem.....286" weighing 548#......close to 80 # heavy!!...cullled on
September 12th......
Well that's about it from Iowa and I want to thank all those who
watched and helped along the way!! Thanks
the Carlsons Dan and Beth
In Iowa right on the mighty mississippi
