Pumpkin grower honored
On November 7, the Sonoma County (CA) Board of Supervisors will
officially honor Ray Barenchi of Santa Rosa, CA., who grew California's
largest pumpkin of the year 2000. He will be recognized for having
placed first this year at Elk Grove, CA, and also at Salinas, CA, with
his 977 pound AG, and he will also be honored for his 954-pound AG which
placed first at this year's Sonoma County Harvest Fair Pumpkin Weighoff.
Barenchi plans to be on hand to receive the accolades, as will some of
us who wish him all the best.
