I also apologize for jumping in, but I just couldn't sit by anymore.
As most people on this list know...my goal is to raise large pumpkins that have these genetics:
ALL ORANGE and HIGH ON BOTH ENDS. (ie....a large version of the C. Field)
See: http://members.aol.com/dbhaskaran/pumpkin00
(Side note: Anyone get one and self it? Please email me privately! Thanks!)
In the eyes of most non-pumpkin grower people...if you show them most of what we grow...they will ask...WHAT IS THAT?
In fact, even my very Orange "Pumpkin" this year got blasted by our radio station since was not high on both ends.
This is a problem. We need to figure out a system that REWARDS people for growing giant orange pumpkins. My point....don't throw anything non-green into the pumpkin mess...cause it is bad enough already and getting worse!
My Opinion.
