re: New Canadian record confirms that heavy pumpkins produce heavy

Al Eaton's 1153 further confirms the fact that heavy pumpkins tend to
produce over-the-charts offspring.
1153 Eaton 01--723 Bobier 99(UOW) x 974.5 Eaton 00
    (8% heavy 14% heavy 13% heavy)

And since this is the time of year when most of us are wondering what
might have been and what could be next year, let's indulge in a bit of
speculation!
So, the 1153 weighed 8% heavy. That means that it "should have" weighed
only 1061 and it would have only weighed 976 if it had been 8% below the
charts. Here's the speculation: what if it had come in 14% over, like
it's mother did?
114% of 1061 is . . . 1209! At these higher weights you really see what
a difference 14% makes. So, maybe this is the year I plant one known to
go over the charts. My only reservation is that most over-the-charts
pumpkins aren't all that good-looking, and I really like 'em round and
orange. Who can tell me what Al's 1153 looked like?
Here's an extra credit homework assignment for anyone up to the task:
How many percent heavy would the 1153 have to be to weigh 1263#?
