Pumpkin Recipe - for AG
Our first year of growing(before we began applying all sorts of pesticides
etc. to deter the bugs!) I went to the trouble of cutting up,baking the
flesh in a turkey roasting pan, draining the pan 6 or 7 times of the
accumulated water, upon removing it from the oven again allowed a final
drain in a colander, and mashed it with a little butter and brown sugar. In
the end we had a lovely side dish that tasted almost identical to pureed
summer squash. Since then, I've saved myself over an hour of work, and just
cook summer squash :-)
We grow a couple plants of sugar pumpkins in another garden for pies.
Cyndi in Ma.
(had gorgeous color this year, to bad my AG only grew to 200lb. est.)
