Comments
Group---following are some comments that I feel should be said:
Recently I spent a fine fall day with a shovel digging trenchs at the edge
of my patch to cut the roots of the neighbours trees that sneak under my
plants just below tiller level to rob them of things I'd rather my plants
could use.
During rest breaks, which became longer and more frequent as the day wore
on,I read a good portion of Don Langevin's "AG Bible 3".
By the end of the day a few thoughts began to drift through my mind:
1.There has been an awesome amount of detailed and valuable information
collected by one person about our hobby.
2.That information has been skillfully arranged by chapters, with lots of
good pictures, into a splendid book that we can all benefit from.
3.How fortunate we are that Don Langevin is an AG grower and has the
talent, time and motivation to put it all together for us.
4.Probably there are very few other "off beat" hobbies where the individuals
have the great advantage that we do,via these AG books.I believe it only
takes one good idea to make the difference in our results and I saw several
things that I likely will try next year.
5.Don Langevin's AG books and Mike Nepereny's AGGC are probably two of the
main reasons why our hobby has advanced so fast in the last few years. Now a
dedicated new grower can start off with a level of knowledge that it took
earlier growers years to accumulate.
In Summary-----I'm trying to keep it short----- I feel that we are very
fortunate that Don Langevin has used his talents to produce his AG books and
that he speaks for and promotes our great hobby in a way that should make us
all proud to know him and belong to the international AG community that he
has certainly helped create.
Now back to those tree roots, spring will soon be here.--AE
