Supplemental light

Don't I remember an experiment back your way w/ intent VERY similar to
yours? They removed the sex organs of salmon in Lake Michigan to prevent
the natural die-off of the fish after spawning, in the hopes of
extending the life (and the growth to trophy size) of the fish. The fish
died at their normal sizes anyway; they just never reproduced.
I am not making this up. But, I say, go for it and keep us posted.
