RE: black spot disease--LEAVES

Thanks, I should have thought of that... But while on the leaves subject,
what about black walnut leaves? I know black walnut *trees* produce juglone
or something which stunt or kill tomato plants if grown nearby, what about
the leaves? I think its emitted thru the roots, which can extend really far
out from the base. And does the juglone only amass in the roots, or
throughout the entire tree including leaves? I thought I read not to use
them for tomatoes but not sure if it effects other plants like cucurbits.
Any info?

Since there is no pumpkin black spot leaf disease or
pumpkin dutch elm disease I would ASSUME that those
disease do not affect pumpkins and those leaves would
be ok to use.
I know lots of people who use lots of different types
of leaves... i think at this time of year most of them
have some kind of disease in them.

And has anybody answered the original post about black
spot? And what about
elm leaves, any good? (if it they got wiped out by
Dutch Elm disease, then
maybe it's a Slippery Elm next door; and it sure puts
out tons of eye-shaped
seeds--I have hundreds that sprouted in my patch.)

Thanks.
