Looking for good genetics

Hello,

I'm glad I finally found a good forum for growing giant pumpkins. I've been
growing pumpkins on and off since I was younger--nothing really serious. I've
ordered seeds from P and P seeds with nothing really huge yet. Actually, I
only got one pumpkin from their seeds this past season. I grew a really good
looking 200lb pumpkin--started them too late b/c of bad health this year. The
other two seasons, I lost my pumpkins from deer getting to them. Anyway, I'm
in a competition with my fiance's father and her sisters husband. I'm looking
for good seed for the three of us and the Pumpkin King's website said this was
the site to go to. This year, after watching the Lord of the Gourds episode,
and seeing an 800lb+ pumpkin at our state fair, I'm really dedicated to
growing a huge one. I'm looking for genetics that push the 1000lb mark
easily. I've also been reading about adding molasses and calcium chelate to
the pumpkins without finding much clarity as to what to mix them with, how
much to use, or where a good place to get the stuff is. I know I can find
molasses at the supermarket, but I'm imagining competitive growers use 5
gallon pails of this stuff. I'd be more than willing to purchase some great
genetic seeds from anybody who has them. Also, if anybody grows the long
gourds competitively here and has some great seeds their looking to get rid
of, I'm willing to take those off your hands for you. Thanks in advance for
any info you can share to help me out!
