Man ya'll are kickin' butt down there! Outstanding!! I think for
quality and volume, a Crimson clover/ wheat or oats mix is hard to beat. A
vetch/rye combo is good, but hard to manage.Tall and viney. Some folks like
winterpeas; anything is better than nothing! I would inoculate the legume
with the proper rhizobia bacteria to be sure it will fix maximum
Nitrogen, especially if legumes haven't been grown on the patch in a couple
of years or so.. I get by with a minimum of fertilizer in my commercial
corn/pumpkin patches by turning under big cover crops.. I've noted a major
increase in earthworm population over the last three years,too. Nice to
