Hello all!
Today is October 3rd, and it was our hottest day in this part of Iowa all year! 97°F! I'm sure that this El Niņo has something to do with it... :) I just wish I was growing Atlanic Giants this year, that way they would have a super long growing season. We have had only one frost, and it was a very slight one. There aren't any frosts in the near future either. Next week it's supposed to be 80 degrees everyday! Is it possible for pumpkins to get too ripe on the vine?
Also, would anyone be interested in trading Atlantic Giant seeds for some of my seeds? The pumpkin I have is a Big Boy variety and I don't have the exact weight yet because it's still on the vine, but I expect it to be around a hundred pounds. This pumpkin has come from a very healthy vine, and it is a very healthy pumpkin itself. It has a well rounded shape and there are no signs of disease or rot.
