I am a Boom Operator in the Air Force. By day I refuel other planes in mid
air at 500 miles per hour. On evenings and weekends I raise Giant Pumpkins.
In my tiny backyard I have managed to raise a couple of 300 lbers. I have
received some advice from Mr. Bob Critchfield from Spokane, but the majority
of my pumpkin knowledge has been picked up from the mailing list.
It is pretty exciting to pass gas 5 miles above the earth to another airplane
only 30 feet away but nothing gets me as worked up as the progress my
pumpkins have made while I am away at work. I am frequently called away to
some of the most bizarre places on earth. While I'm gone I rely heavily on
my wife and neighbors to keep my babies fed and watered.
