Re: SOIL TEST

Dear Jim:
Contact your local agricultural extension office for a soil test kit. In
that kit there'll be a sheet of paper for name, address, etc. it should
also ask you what crop you intend to grow. Check pumpkins or squash. Take
your soil sample, per instructions, place the kit and a check (around $10)
in the P.O. The college will do the rest.
Home chemistry kits, where you DIY - do it yourself - are never as
accurate as a test from an argicultural college, the DIY kits are more
expensive, and the chemicals in the kits won't lasta year.
If you have any problems with MN's ag college (you shouldn't) call Ohio
States ag dept @
1-614-292-1868 to order there soil test kit, or visit their site @
http://www.ag.ohio-state.edu/~ohioline/lines/hygs.html.
