Thanks to the generous people on this list who sent me seeds last year, 
the 1997 Great Pumpkin Grow-Off & Halloween Party was another great
success. Our event raised a total of $21,000 for the local Food Bank.
Out of 525 pre-registered pumpkin growers we had over 200 return for the
waigh-off. Our largest pumpkin was 462 lbs. This was no world record but
the winner is going to take a friend to Disney Land as a prize.
Not too bad of a prize dont't you think?
 We had thousands of people, young and old come out for the fun and games. 
It was a real honour to meet Jack Breckenridge and receive an autographed
copy of his book
Pumpkins are Orange. I hope he had a good time being part of an event like
this. I hope Jack
doesn't get a bad impression of Canada because of the way the customs
officers treated him at
the border. I appologize on behalf all Canadians.
If anyone out there wants to send me some seeds I will send the cash to pay
for postage.
I can get US cash but I can't get US postage.
Please think of this event if you are giving away seeds.
