Dean,
I use Hairspray on the cut edges. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T HAVE A LIT CANDEL
INSIDE WHEN YOU PUSH THAT BUTTON!!!!!! The AG'S are so big, they require
a lot of light. I use a regular light bulb. Don't let it lay on the
bottom or it will pop. You can also used colored bulbs for different
effects. Small Strobe light also work good, You can pick them up for
about twenty bucks.
Once carved, I keep them in the garage where it is cool and out of the
sunlight. AG'S have a lot of water in them, I access the inside by
cutting a whole in the back, not the top. I don't worry about cleaning
the inside that much, I just get the seeds out and put a towel in the
bottom to soak up the water then replace the back by using large nails
or chopsticks to pin the back on.
Dry Ice works great but requires frequent replacing. You need a one
burner, electric burner inside the pumpkin on a piece of wood. put a
medium size pot of water on the burner and keep on low, the key is to
keep the water warm and keep adding ice.
Dry Ice, Colored Light Bulbs or Strobes look awsome!!!!!!
