All right, it's time to get tough, to let the cat out of the bag (my
Baaaabyy), to put the spit on the polish, etc. I have a site to grow
pumpkins which should be terrific. It is just putside the door of a barn
where the stables were. When the stables were cleaned, a pile of composting
manure ensued. Many years have passed. I have a whole pasture to plant in.
I have some seeds from Jack LaRue and from Rick Noffke (the late Alice
contributed) and I can use more. I can fill this pasture.
My first problem is how do I know the parentage of whatever I am growing? If
a bumblebee gets to the flowers before I do, how would I know? Or do I just
acknowl;edge the mom and say the daddy was a travelin' man?
I have to plan this now and through the winter because I have to landscape
another site in spring.
Thanks for your help. I have already got a lot of info from this group. I
guess my question is redundant, but I envision a tangle of twining vines out
there!
