Well, check out the other competition, and enter whatever one you will win the
most in! I entered in a pie contest a couple years ago just for the heck of
it, and there was supposed to be a kids division, but no one entered, so I got
put in the regular group with ALL women, (slightly embarrassing!), from 40-70
years old, who have been baking for about 2-3 times longer than I have been
alive. But, I got second place, and FIRST PLACE for Best Crust. Go figure! The
judges were all proffessional chefs and the tasting was done double blind.
Needless to say, the women didn't like the idea of some punk kid beating them,
so they ganged up on me on my way out and beat me severely. Talk about bad
sportsmanship. O.K., well just kidding about that part. They were all nice! I
got in the paper, and total strangers kept recognizing me. It was weird.
