Just got back from Elk Grove Great weigh-off for there first year as GPC
host! just loved it!!!!Talk about a community!!!! except I lost a place
again by a 1/2 pound....( OHH The "I should ofs" I have to go
through)..Geez fortunetly I like the guy I lost to.hes a nice
s.o.b...........Found 10 million e-mails.......and of course this one from
Gus........this made me wince a little as two very fine men in this pumpkin
world had a difference........of thought.............THE FARMER Vs the
PROMOTER.........It brought a lot of insight to how much Gus Saunders would
give up to help build his program..to benefit growers..borderlining on
pumpkin sainthood for his devotion.......and then the farmer who also has
devoted so much time to grow pumpkins and help us understand the importance
of keeping records of parentages.....and sharing them......but like both
men they like to see something for all their work!.......Some sort of
gratification. Some of the top growers from all over the world have their
connections to make sure they get something for their efforts. I am trying
to find out some of these great places there are to sell these AGs.....guys
sell them to super markets, casinos..and the money is bigger than the prize
money.......hell they never tell where they have their connections DAMN!
But I am all ears..............So was this that odd of behavior nah.....was
Gus wrong to use the group to vent ...Nah....I do all the time..........if
i had a collection plate i would pass it for Gus.....for all his time and
devotion.....he's got no place to cash in........But keeps on going !....I
sure do appreciate the work both Al and Gus do ....and don't make me wince
like that!...........keep up the good work!!...........brock
