I too had so many tears of joy I couldn't see you standing right next to
me. Pete has worked so long and hard at getting to the 800 range that
nobody deserves it more. Pete has helped so many growers over the years
and has quite a following in Napa that most of the growers he worked with
had a new personal best at HMB. I was amazed at the number of personal
best we saw today. Mettler, Mombert, LaRue, Glasier, Brock, Gowen,
Pahlmeyer, Prudence, as well as several other growers of which I don't
recall their names but remember their smiles of elation of one long
wonderful season. I wish a hugh congratulations to all who out did their
personal best and for those who came close. Thanks, Betty Stone, you put
on a fantastic weigh-off and we loved every minute of it.
