Marv,
"The Collins Long Gourd" finally gets recognized. After 6 years of
development and a world record back in 1990 our efforts (mine and my son
Andy's -he was 8yrs old at the time) will be rewarded by exposure on national
TV thanks to Steve. The "Guinness Book of Record" still lists my brother
Pete's 110 5/8 in 1994 specimen as the record. The development of a new
competitive variety gives one a certian satisfaction. Unlike the pumpkin, I
still have the 99 in shell in the attic!
Thanks to all who grow the "Collins Long Gourd" - how about a little goal of
10 ft?
