Listowner comments
This is the first week of the big weighoffs, and now
we will have to see if this weekend brings any new
records. If the media states an incorrect weight,
then the media is at fault. The media is doing there
job and they are not aware of our mailing list or
archives to know the true report. We all know the
media makes mistakes.
On the official weekend for weighing pumpkins... my
comment is, it is the one that provides the most fun.
Don't forget, most of us truly grow these pumpkins for
fun. Deep down inside we want a large pumpkin, but
what is the biggest prize of all, is seeing the
peoples faces for the first time who are amazed how
large a pumpkin can grow. Hey, I even had a young
girl ask me to sign Don's book. I did of course after
I told her to get Joel's and Paul's signature.
On the issue of WPC webpages, some of you know what it
takes to revise a webpage, but if you have no idea
then it is very difficult to update a page during this
busy time. Ray, doesn't have a clue on revising
homepages, so he has to hire someone to do it. This
takes time. Most of the veteren growers know Ray is
the Don King in pumpkin advertisement. We should thank
him in promoting the joy of pumpkin growing versus any
negitive words.
Lets see...hmm hmm other comments, Sent a note to Tony
Hickman down south and he's fishing... wrote a few
poems on fishing...havn't had a chance to read them.
Working with Wendy and Mike on making a homepage....I
havn't seen the full results yet on GPC weighoffs. As
soon as I get them, I will post them.
I never did grow a pumpkin this year. Next year, I
will have to get my Uncle Bill going and see if we can
have another family competition. If you havn't seen my
uncle's homepage, you should.
It looks like we have a few more weeks left for
pumpkin growing and then we should start supporting
our fellow growers in the Southern Hemisphere.
If you carve your pumpkin, send me a picture and I
will make a Jack o Latern homepage on AG's.
Duncan
