Elk Grove , HMB
Elkgrove is a spendid festival and growing and growing. It is located in a
wonderful park and has plenty for all to do. Very family oriented!! I
personally like their prize money set up as it gives more growers a chance
to go home happy. And the prize money is respectable. 3,2,1
grand.....500.00 for 4th and 250.00 for 5th then 50 for......6-10th...then
if thats not enough they offer mystery places...so you can be dinky and get
lucky!!....the place to take the family!! Just getting better and
better.....very exciting!!!
HMB is serious grower action. And after many years... are masters at
running a weigh off. Friendly atmosphere and absolutely great hosts!!!
Big takes all very exciting but BRUTAL! Last year 3 of the biggest
pumpkins fought for the top heavy money. One would win and the other top
900+ where compensated.......hek if there had been 5 nine hundreds lowest
nine would get 100.00................ah!! won't even pay the water
bill............so only a few go home happy....like two...maybe.....but you
can't whine too much as these splendid folks treat every grower and family
to lunch...................
