In addition to the genetics of the seed lets find out the soil conditions these pumpkins were grown in, the second most important thing. How about if the growers of the top pumpkins send a sample of their soil for testing so we can see how they compare and we can determine exactly what the optimal levels of nutrients in the soil are for maximum growth potential. They can post the results of the soil test here for all to see... then we can all try to mimick those conditions...
I think this is as important to consider as the seed itself. Now would be a good time to test before the soil changes over the winter as nutrients wash from the soil and growers add to their soil.
It sounds good to me.. any comments on this idea???
