Re: letterman
Your right, Dave doesn't have a clue. I used to watch his
show when I was younger and thought it was ok, but by the
time my stepkids started watching, I thought it was rather
stupid, maybe I'd outgrown Letterman in the intervening
years. But to expect this guy to understand the effort put
in to doing something no one else in the world has done is
expecting too much. I don't imagine Dave's thoughts run
very deep, especially where other people are concerned, nor
do the producers. It would interfere with their ongoing
attempts at feeding shallow pap to entertain the masses.
I understand the show attemped in the pastto aquire a
world record pumpkin, and then drop it off a building. The
grower wasn't intested for obvius reasons, but it does show
the level of "entertainment" provided on the show. The
audience targeted by the show must be very juvinile,
similar to what the comedy channel aims for. I enjoy some
of the juvinile stuff on the comedy channel in limited
doses, but find Letterman rather tiresome.
