Letterman
We first want to wish Dan a speedy recovery.
As for the show, let me tell you it is more chaotic than a turned over
anthill. The show was prepared to do a large segment on the pumpkin but
Meryl Streep, who they tried for 20 years to get on the show was in
town. So were the world champion Yankees. The thursday show tapes at
5:30 and the friday show right after it at 8:00, between the 2 shows
room had to be made. Several people bumped completely including Pavrotti
and the Ropps who came all the way from Alaska with their world record
rutabaga and were not even mentioned. Such is show biz but at least
Moonie is a star.
Another interesting story is how we got the pumpkin off the truck
without the forklift that they forgot to provide. They just didn't
realize how big the thing was. Had to saw some of the pallet off to get
it in the door.
We now have mixed emotions about the whole thing but the trip was
definetely interesting and we had time to do a little sightseeing so
it was a total loss. Glad to be back at the patch.
