List members, tshirt collectors, and weigh off seekers....
The Pennsylvania Giant Pumpkin Grower's Association is proud to make
the official announcement of it's 2000 weigh off on October 7th, 2000 at
Sam's Club in Altoona, PA. Go to http://www.PGPGA.com for complete
details. Additionally, the new t-shirt design is in for the PGPGA and is
on sale through the website, so all of you t-shirt collectors get them
now by clicking on the corresponding icon in the website. The PGPGA has
had a wonderful year holding down the world title via Gerry Checkon and
her 1131 pound moonie, and look forward to defending the crown in 2000.
We may not offer big time money (1000 - 1st, 500 - 2nd, , but we will
offer you big time fun, including the pumpkin pie eating contest, milk
drinking contest, pumpkin carvers, pumpkin painting, pumpkin decorating,
ugliest and prettiest pumpkin contest (they didn't go with my idea of
ugliest and prettiest "pumpkin grower" contest.. haahaa) petting zoo,
and all the fruit and vegetable weighing you can stand!! The PGPGA site
is a GPC member (GPC rules strictly enforced), and is proud to also be
the home of 1999 GPC winning cantaloupe entry of Mike Lehman and his
24.63 pound melon.
There will be lots to eat and drink, including the "Burger Barn", which
is sponsored by Sam's Club, and all proceeds benefit the American Heart
Association.
To bring the level of excitement up, and conger up some very recent
memories, go to our 1999 weigh off page (
http://www.pgpga.com/1999WO.htm ) for a look at the results, and also
get you pumped up for this years festivities!!! I will be there, along
with dozens of other list members, so come and put some faces with these
text emails... Hope to see you there!!!!
