Ottawa St. Lawrence Growers Weighoff
Of course the OSLGA weighoff will also be October 7th. This is a GPC
santioned site so growers will be competing for GPC and OSLGA prize and of
course bragging rights for one year. Weighoff details are in our latest
newsletter which was mailed Monday. Included with the newsletter is our
annual weighoff poster.
The prize list and rules will be posted on our website this week. Watch
this list for further notice. Basically we are offering the following for
pumpkins:
Pumpkins
1st $3,000 *
2nd 1,500
3rd 1,000
4th 500
5th 300
6th to 10th 100
11th & 15th 50
*If a new world record is weighed at the OSLGA weighoff an additional $2,000
will be awarded to the winner. All exhibits remain the property of the
grower.
In addition, each exhibitor will receive an OSLGA ballcap. Unfortunately
only a limited number are being made. If anyone would like a ballcap please
email me after the weighoff and we will see if there are any remaining.
In addition to pumpkins, we will offer prize money for watermelon, tall corn
and of course squash.
New this year will be the weighing of Giant tomatoes and cantaloupes. No
local prize money is available for these 2 categories but exhibitors can
compete for the GPC prizes.
The weighoff fee is included in the membership of OSLGA members.
Memberships may be purchased on weighoff day.
