Re: Presumptous
Mike..
I am glad you brought up this isue of my seed list.. And dont send
people to my seed list, and then turn around and say it isnt a personal
attack, because I can send the list to many peoples list on the internet
, but that would be a personal attack.. I have always, and always will,
trade for seeds. If you feel you have been wronged, well, I am sorry,
but let me tell you, your 819s never went in the oven, as suggested, but
were given to people who asked for some great seeds.. and for free.. My
friend Jim Kuzma grew a 430 pounder last year on a Stephenson 819, cream
color, but very nice size and shape. If you notice, and I want all of
you to go to the seed library listed above, and take note, Where are
there mostly 1 or 2 seeds? I will tell you... At or near the top in the
700 pound and up section.. That isnt because I didnt get many, but it is
a fact that I have distributed more free seeds than you will ever care
to rip out of the center of a pumpkin.. Whenever I tell people my seeds
are free for the asking, I mean it, and I dont mean 200 pounders.. I
take and give most people 5-6 different types of seeds, so they can have
a choice. And always, I include atleast one type of a seed from a 700
pounder and up.. That is why you notice most of my upper seed library
down to one seed, and not because I hoard them for myself..
As for the issue of your seeds, I have never included them in a trade,
if that is what you were asking.. And as far as that is concerned, what
I do with seeds I acquire when I send a seed request, is my business, as
they have become "my" property at that point.. Am I selling them? I dont
think so.. I have never charged one nickel, and never will.. Heck, I
spent almost 50 hours "of my time" running a seed auction, not to
mention the countless, and I mean countless hours of updating the
PGPGA.com site, WHICH I HAVE NEVER CHARGED THEM ONE NICKEL EITHER..
So call them as you see them Mike, but do me a favor, next time you
cast stones, dont throw them my way.. I spend way too much time, way too
much effort furthering the hobby by sending to growers my bubble packs
requesting thier seeds so I can help out newbies and actually, help out
numerous heavy hitters also with seeds, thanyou can ever imagine. So
what if I plant 4 seeds a year, and have over 200 different types? Cant
I have a choice for my efforts? I again reiterate, I have never charged
anyone, heck It actually costs me money to do this free seed thing..
Dont believe me? Ask Larry if his 97 inch gourd seeds from Steve Clarke
, that he couldnt get from Steve Clarke, worked well for him this year?
Hmm where did he get them, (not one, but 5 or 6).. yeah.. thats right..
Oh ask Mark Elsbree how his Mombert 937, Handy 974, Mettler 865(yeah
865), or his Sproule 968 did... Get ALL the facts before you throw that
last stone and finish me off in the square Mike... sheesh.. Try caining
next time.. The part I loved the most was you saying thsi isnt a
personal attack.. I love it. too damn funny.. I feel like Gordon and
Diana now.. Or Steve and Bob.. Or well.. you get my point..
