The Seed Library

To the list,
I have known Rocky personally for five or six years now. I was surprised to see the attack on him from this list. Rocky has a great gift of communication and an even greater gift of helping others. In fact I asked him the other day if he could donate some time to the local animal shelter as they needed someone with computer experience. His response was "How can I help them"?.
Rock gives me seeds every year. If he doesn't have them he gives me some addresses of people who are willing to send me seeds. In fact I meet people all the time who are interested in growing big pumpkins and ask me how to do it. The first thing I do is give them the address of Don Langevin and then give them Rocky's address for the seeds. I have never sent a person to Rock that has been turned away. The seeds Rock always gave away were top quality seeds. They were rarely  500-600 pounders but 700-800-900 and even 1000 pounders. These were given to people that were just starting out and people he had never met. These were even given to people that just wanted to grow a big pumpkin for a son, daughter or grandchild.
I feel bad for my friend Rock   as obviously there are a few people out there that don't know how much Rock loves this sport and how much he loves to help new growers. I hope this doesn't damper his enthusiasm for the sport as many, many people have benefited not only from his generosity with seeds but the hours of enjoyment many have received from his e-mails and work he has done on the pgpga.com  website. I for one wouldn't enjoy this sport near as much as I do without my good friend Lyle Rockwell.
Thank-you Rock for everything you have done for me and everything you  have done for the sport of giant pumpkins!!!!
