Re: growth observations
Bart,
I noticed kind the opposite on my pumpkin. The side that recieved the most
sunlight is smooth, orange, and not canatalouped much, while the other side
shaded for the whole day is green ribbed, very rough, and scared. To me, my
pumpkin has a split personality.
I had the shade contraption really close to that side of the pumpkin where
it was rough. I used black landscape material on that side to shade from the
sun. I think the heat generated from the sun on the black landscape material
caused this side to be green ribbed and very rough when the heat came in
contact with the skin and i am sure the walls are much thicker on that side
than on the smooth side. The smooth side only however received the morning
sun which is not as strong as the afternoon and evening sun.
This is interesting, i wonder if anyone else experienced this.
