Some would go for broke, and just let it go until weigh off time,
gambling on not only the state record, but that so cherished goal of
1000 pounds. But, if you insist truely happy with where it is at now,
and dont want to get much larger, you need to cut down on its energy
source, the leaves themselves. Taking every other secondary off right at
the main vine out will take its production down a bit, and keep it
alive, while not shutting down for good. Keep up with the fungicides to
prevent any damage, and captan any places you cut off secondaries.
Basically, you are cutting the plant size in half, while keeping the
fruit on the plant.
