No Subject

I have a question I wondered if you could help me with? I planted some Atlantic Giant Pumpkins this year in Indiana (USA). I had 2 at approx. 250 lbs. each (my largest ever). About 2 1/2 weeks ago I noticed many squash bugs on the pumpkins... so I sprayed the pumpkins with Pyola. I went out 2 days later and still seen squash bugs but not as many. About a week and a half ago I decided to harvest them because the vines were dead. Last week after harvesting my pumpkins they both started to rot about 3 - 4 days ago. They are now collapsed. Can you tell me what I may have did wrong? Bye the way, no frost here yet.
