Re: Oregon Catastrophy

Brett,

You have joined a terrible club of folks who have lost their big ones. The size of your lost one makes it doubly hard. Please accept my sincere regrets. Try to at least take some comfort in the fact that you entered the sacred land of the 1000 pound pumpkin, no small feat as all on this list will attest. Well done!

Well it seems the Hester patch is not immune to late season problems.  The big one on my 611 went down to a small cross rib split barely big enough to stick a toothpick in.  It measured out at 170 X 94 x 97.  Crappy part is it weighed 13% heavy at 1034 pounds.  Number two is down leaving the big one on the 1026 Holland plant as my last really big one.
In Mourning in Oregon,
Brett The Pumpkinguru  Hester
