What a difference a location makes on this continent...Austin Minnesota I
see is located on the far south of your state ( south of 45 degrees). On the
other hand Regina, Saskatchewan ( North of 50 degrees), is much further
north than you folks ( we are a 4 hour drive North West of Minot, ND at 1850
feet above sea level)...& we have had only slight frost so far. However my
effort in pumpkin growing ( Called the Regina Blob)is still growing (inch by
inch each day) but will not exceed 300lbs, this year. In the next few days
we are getting 75-80 F temps so I'll feed my "Regina Blob" more water to
finish an extra few pounds.
