Mike:

A grower has to be creative when looking for scales that can accurately weigh
large AGs. Any reputable scale company can direct you to local businesses
with scales that are designed to weigh large or heavy items.

I was directed to a builder's supply gravel/stone yard, a scrap
metal/recycler, a vet (they weigh barnyard animals at times), a produce
company and an ice company. All but the vet had calibrated, digital platform
scales; the vet had analog platform scales. All were agreeable to allow me to
weigh my pumpkins free of charge.

Truck scales that are designed to weigh semi or tractor-trailer loads are
incredibly accurate; they are calibrated to weigh to within 20 pounds of
actual weight. While 20 lb is a lot when weighing pumpkins, to a semi driver,
it's commercially acceptable. However, I tested the one close to my home by
weighing my pumpkin on a digital platform scale at a local business and then
taking it to the truck scale~the weights were identical.
