Re: Geneva Electric Crosses the Century Mark

Vince, wow!  Great job, keep the duct taping going.  Now you know you can do it, next year it will be a 1500lb'er !!!!!

Subject: Geneva Electric Crosses the Century Mark

Well, it's now unofficial...  Sometime, in the wee hours of Sept 4, Geneva Electric quietly crossed into the next century in tape weight.

I have a second pumpkin growing on the 922.5 Emmons plant at 20 pounds a day and GE has broken 20% off from the vine due to stem stress - and she's still gaining about 20 pounds a night.  None of my abuse can stop her.

GE's growth chart advances approx.  30 pounds a day from day 21 until day 53

At day 54, the skin started to show a hint of orange and signs of hardening up.  She really wanted to go north of 1,200 pounds.... maybe she still will - if I don't run out of duct tape.

You can see her celebrate on the GE Cam  at:

Hit the previous button on the web page and you can see a few shots showing how the fruit has grown.
