Hi all:
My pumpkin is oozing a thick yellow material.  It's almost like a sweat on
an area 1 ft. by 1 ft. and a heavy drip above the stem.  If I leave the ooze
alone, it eats into a plant skin.  It's contained and has not spread.  Has
anyone any idea what it is & how to treat it?  Thanks, Mark

Mark from what I have experienced, what you have is good! That means the pumpkin is growing faster than the skin will allow. What I do is keep a coffee cup with a little bleach (table spoon) and a tooth brush handy. I take the tooth brush and gently clean those areas and then wipe them dry with a wash cloth. I doesn't hurt any to put a little captan on them.
Good Luck
Bill
