RE: New Minnesota record goes kaput!

It all depends on who's rules you are following.

To be a state record, it needs to follow State Rules.

To win GPC money, it needs to follow GPC rules.

To be a personal best, it has to follow your own personal rules.

I partially agree with Bill, that the sportsmanship dictates you pick it for
the October 5th weigh-off. BUT! What about the early weigh-off's? What
about the late weigh-off's? What about the area with no nearby weigh-offs.
If I lived in a location with no early weigh-offs, but weighed my fruit on
September 21st, does that make my fruit less of a record than someone who
lives in Indiana and goes to the Huber Farm Weigh-off on that date?

More to think about!

Gus: do you want an official record, or are you willing to let it grow
out for the largest un-official weight you can get from it?

Glenn: If your not going to win a prise or take a contest whats the
difference?

Me: I'm guessing the difference would be if you wanted to set a new
state record. Gus is up against stiff competition in Ohio.
