RE: INDIANA STATE RECORD/ Integrity ?

I think Tom should decide if he wants it to be the record or not, you guys already blew the call at the weigh off by declaring it official weighted. But one thing I have learned in this pumpkin world is that it’s like golf and there is integrity involved. Most growers point out to the judges if a pumpkin is flawed or post it on a web site some where. Have any of you asked Tom if he thinks it should be a new record maybe he doesn’t. Maybe he will call a stroke on himself knowing the pumpkin wasn’t sound or maybe he truly in his hart believes it should be the record and if that’s the case then it should be. This is just my opinion, but I think that Tom should be he one to decide I don’t know him personally but from emails and other people I here he is a great kid and I think he would make the right decision

Drew and Wayne,
Are you both willing to say that if the IPGA recognizes this that we are in no way sacrificing our integrity as a group?  This pumpkin was leaking while it was still on the scale.  Don't you think we should at least be concerned about this.  The reason it took us a few days was simple.  The board has not had an easy time with this decision.  We all like Tom but do not want to be seen as a group that will allow a pumpkin not up to standard be called a state record.
Does anyone on this list have a problem with it being a state record?  I am curious.

Brad
