First inexperienced judges, now no calibrated
scales. What next. All weigh offs need to take steps to insure these issues
don't arise. We wonder why theres so many problems, too many
inconsistencies.

You and I are friends but this is pure BS.
The official weight is and was 825. For the record, yes I
was there.

DR. David Garrell set the new CT
RECORD this wed. with a 821 LB pumpkin at the Durham Fair in Durham, CT.
There was some questions as to the scales accuracy so and outside CO was
hired to come in and reweigh it. I was present for the reweigh. It is
officially a 821lb. The fair weight had been 825, It was grown from the
845 Bobier and was sibbed. Great shape and color too. So,
Congratulations are do to David!

Bart, The last
thing the list needs is a new thread on this subject of what counts as a state
record. Since the scale at the fair had not been calibrated in years and the
scale it was reweighed on had just been calibrated and the reweigh was done by
the scale Co. rep. We're going with the reweigh of 821LB. Lets not start a 2
week thread on this. Your buddy,
Alan R.
