RE: Bigun Down
Don,
Though I was not nearly at the tremendous weight that you are, I was headed
for a new German Record when I got a blossom end split on 15 Aug, I weighed
a week later and only missed the record by 17 pounds, gosh knows what it
would have done if it wouldn't have split. I found a certified scale, got
about 6 strong guys, called the local paper and have it all documented. It
won't mean squat on 5 October when we have our official weigh-off, but it
sure felt good to at least get it weighed and onto the AGGC. Congrats on
such a great accomplishment and weigh it as soon as you can.

List,
What does one do when he grows a 1000+lb. pumpkin and it gets a blossom end
split in early Aug. but puts on another 400+lbs. after a couple beads of
liquid nail, holds together looks seemingly fine until this AM when it
starts getting soft under the blossom end? I know.....:( How may I make the
best of such an experience or at least get an honorable mention in a state
record, or get this thing weighed as close as possible if there's no contest
till the 24th...and such...any ideas could only help me feel better about
now. Don Chambers Down and Out in WV
