The Hoffman family and the PGVG invite all growers and interested parties to
attend their 6th annual giant pumpkin contest.  We would like to thank all of
our sponsors old and new.  New sponsors this year are Chinook Winds Casino and
Drake's 7 Dees Nursery.

1.   The contest is open to all growers and clubs
2.    Entry is free
3.    Date is October 4, 2003
4.    Location:  Hoffmans' Dairy Garden in Canby, Oregon
5.    Registration starts at 8:00AM
6.    Contest begins at 10:00AM
7.    Weighing will begin with the giant pumpkins open division
8.    Classes:
       Giant pumpkins (open division)
       Giant pumpkins (youth division)
       Giant squash (combined divisions)
       Field pumpkins (combined divisions) (non Curcurbita maxima)
       Tomato  (combined divisions)
       Watermelon  (combined divisions)
       Most awesome vegetable (combined division) "Peoples Choice Award": tall
corn, sunflowers,
onions, squash, beets, long gourds, carrots, potatoes ... bring
       the entire garden!!!
       Golden Globe class (Best looking Atlantic Giant Pumpkin voted on by the
growers who enter the contest)

9.     Increased prize money with over $16,000 in cash prizes and
       awards
10.   Special Awards:

Chinook Winds has come on board as a major sponsor.  They are sponsoring
$1.00 per pound for  the winner of each and every class.   That is right each
class.
 Best new grower  (trophy)
 Plaques will be awarded to all class winners
            NOTE:  If a PGVG member wins first place in the giant
            pumpkin open division class a bonus of $1.00 per pound
           will be awarded from the PGVG and another $1.00 per pound from
Chinook Winds.

Thus first prize for a PGVG member will be $2000 from the Hoffman's plus $2.00

per pound.  If a non PGVG  member wins the first place  They will receive
$2000 from the Hoffman's and $1.00 per pound from Chinook Winds.

To Qualify for the PGVG $1.00 per pound bonus
           You must be a member in good standing with the PGVG by September 1,
2003.
      Youth division first place award of a brand new top of the
      line BMX Bike (donated by Bikes N' More)

which ever is more convenient.



     Take the exit- exit number 282A- toward CANBY/ HUBBARD.  0.66 miles



        Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto HUBBARD CUTOFF RD NE/ WILSONVILLE HUBBARD HWY.
1.12 miles



     Turn LEFT onto ARNDT RD NE.  1.79 miles



        Stay straight to go onto S KNIGHTS BRIDGE RD.  0.73 miles


        Heading North on I-5

      8:  Take the exit- exit number 278- toward AURORA NAT'L HISTORIC DIST./
DONALD.  0.22 miles



      9:  Turn RIGHT onto EHLEN RD NE.  2.39 miles



      10:  Turn LEFT onto AIRPORT RD NE.  1.85 miles
